New Delhi: Acclaimed actor and newly elected MP Kangana Ranaut has been announced as the brand ambassador for the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 26 to October 5, 2025.

Ranaut, who represents the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh in the current Lok Sabha, expressed her pride in supporting India’s para athletes. “India’s para athletes are rewriting what is possible every single day,” she said in a statement issued by the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI). “I am deeply honoured to support them and help raise awareness about their incredible achievements. Para sport is not just about competition—it is about courage, and I am proud to stand behind our champions.”

Known for her impactful performances in films like Fashion and Queen, the 39-year-old star now adds this ambassadorial role to her growing portfolio of public service and advocacy.

PCI President and BJP leader Devendra Jhajharia, a two-time Paralympic gold medallist in javelin throw, welcomed the announcement. “Her passion, influence, and commitment to India’s athletes make her a perfect ambassador for the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships,” he said.

The event will bring together elite para athletes from over 100 countries and is expected to be one of the largest sporting events hosted in India in recent years.
