An Indian Army soldier from Andhra Pradesh, Havildar Murali Nayak of Kallithanda village (Gaddamthanda panchayat, Satya Sai district), was martyred on May 7 or 8, 2025, during an intense exchange of fire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
A former student of Somam Deva Palli School, Murali Nayak was among several young men from his village who had answered the nation’s call to serve in the armed forces. His body is expected to arrive in Kallithanda by May 10, 2025, so that his family and community can pay their final respects.
The entire country salutes Havildar Nayak’s bravery and mourns his sacrifice. His death comes amid a recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Just yesterday, Indian forces successfully intercepted and repelled Pakistani drones and munitions along the western border, underscoring their vigilance on multiple fronts.
As Andhra Pradesh and the nation grieve, Murali Nayak’s valor will be remembered as an inspiration to all.
