Jerusalem Mathaiah, one of the prime accused in cash-for-vote scam involving Telugu Desam Party legislator A Revanth Reddy, has claimed credit for the latest patch-up between AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao.Mathaiah told media on Thursday that KCR would have gone to jail in the phone tapping case, Naidu in cash-for-vote case and KTR in the threatening case, but for his (Mathaiah) prayers in various churches along with other Christians.
“It was because of my prayers that the two governments had overcome the crisis. Otherwise, they would have collapsed with the arrest of Naidu and KCR,” he said. He thanked the Christian brothers in both the States for their prayers which helped bring amity between Chandrababu Naidu and KCR.
He demanded that both the CMs strive for welfare of the Dalits and Christians. He also demanded that the TDP government initiate steps to nominate an Anglo-Indian as an MLA in Andhra Pradesh. Mathaiah also demanded nominated posts to Christians and steps to protect churches, Christian graveyards and pastors.
He also urged the TRS government to sanction funds for construction of a Christian Bhavan, financial assistance to Christians for pilgrimage to Jerusalem, nominated posts and an MLC post besides taking steps for the welfare of Christians in the State.
