Star tags have always played a key role in shaping an actor’s on-screen identity, often becoming inseparable from their public image. For Ravi Teja, the title “Mass Maharaj” has long defined his energetic and mass-oriented persona. However, in a notable change, the actor will appear without this popular tag in his upcoming film Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi (BMW), which is slated for release on January 13 during the Sankranthi festival.

Ravi Teja was last seen in Mass Jathara in November, but BMW marks a conscious shift in both content and presentation. Directed by Kishore Tirumala, the film is designed as a clean family entertainer, a genre Ravi Teja has not explored extensively in recent times. The project was planned well ahead, keeping the festive audience in mind.

During discussions with the director, Ravi Teja reportedly expressed his desire to portray a fresh character that would not remind audiences of his earlier roles. He wanted the performance to feel new and organic, breaking away from his established mass image. In line with this thought process, he suggested that his screen name appear simply as Ravi Teja, dropping the “Mass Maharaj” prefix for this film.

Speaking at a recent press meet, director Kishore Tirumala revealed that Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi has been written as a pure family drama with minimal action. Apart from one entertaining fight sequence, the film avoids violence and focuses more on emotions, humor, and relatable situations.

The film features Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi as the female leads, with Vennela Kishore, Sunil, and others playing key roles. Produced by Sudhakar Chilakuri, the film has music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. With its family-friendly appeal and Ravi Teja’s refreshed approach, BMW aims to strike a chord with festive audiences.
