Has KCR unveiled his future plans to the people of Telangana? Was it deliberate or was it off-the-cuff? His speech at Janagam the other day is now the talk of the town. Poll watchers say that KCR always speaks in a calculated and well-thought out manner and there would never be a slip of the tongue.
It now clear that KCR is seriously considering going for polls at least a year before the actual end of his term. There are three clear indications. One – he is unveiling his plan to go into national politics. He said he would change the national politics if he is sent to Delhi. He has also said that he would bring a government at the Centre that dances to Telangana’s tunes.
Both these comments indicate that he wants to emerge as the king-maker at the Centre. The second indicator is that he wants to hand over reins of power to his son KTR. KTC would manage the state, while he would manage the national politics with a decided anti-Modi and anti-BJP tilt.
At the same time, he has given enough indications that state-central relations would be his plank for the next elections. In 2018, he raked up the issue of Andhra rule by proxy. This time he would rake up domination of Telangana by the Centre. It remains to be seen how the TDP would react to this new strategy of KCR.
