Meta and Ray-Ban have officially introduced the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta AI smart glasses in India, delivering major enhancements in performance, camera quality, and AI capabilities. Priced from ₹39,900, the new wearable is now available across Ray-Ban India stores and major optical retailers.
The upgraded model features sharper 3K Ultra HD video capture with ultrawide HDR support, alongside a significantly improved battery that offers up to eight hours of continuous use. The fast-charging case extends power by an additional 48 hours, with the glasses reaching 50% charge in just 20 minutes. Meta has also confirmed upcoming software updates that will add slow-motion and hyperlapse capture modes.
A standout improvement is the enhanced Meta AI assistant, now fully capable of understanding and responding in Hindi. Users can trigger the assistant with “Hey Meta” to take photos, issue commands, or ask questions hands-free. Meta has also introduced a new Celebrity AI Voice feature, adding actress Deepika Padukone to its roster of global celebrity voices for a more personalised experience.
In a significant step for India, Meta is piloting UPI-Lite payments directly through the glasses. Wearers can complete secure QR-code payments simply by looking at a code and saying “scan and pay,” with transactions linked through their WhatsApp-connected bank account.
The Gen 2 lineup is available in classic and modern designs, including Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner, now offered in striking new colours such as Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet, and Shiny Asteroid Grey.
