Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Nani, known for his foulmouth, had slammed the actor for his comments. He said that the government had not reduced the ticket fares.
Countering Nani’s comments, Kodali Nani said that the industry members can make investments in the Kirana shops itself when they feel that Kirana stars are doing better than the movie theatres. Who is stopping them from doing so, Kodali Nani said.
Backing the government’s decision, Kodali Nani said, the government is not letting the people in the industry loot people in the name of the tickets. Putting exhibitors as the shields, a few people are playing a game. How can Nani say that reducing the ticket fares will cause losses to exhibitors, he said.
If collections at Kirana stores are good, why can’t they make investments there? The government has not reduced the ticket fares. Earlier, they used to get orders from the court seeking directives to increase the ticket fares. But now, the government issued an order to stop this, Kodali Nani maintained.
Natural Star Nani has been in the news with his comments on the theatre issue. Ahead of the release of his recent film Shyam Singha Roy, Nani expressed his displeasure on the issue and said that Kirana stores are seeing better collections than the film theatres.
The talented hero also said that reducing the ticket fares is nothing but an insult to the audience. Saying that the audiences are ready to buy tickets even at higher prices, Nani said that how come the ticket rates can be reduced. The exhibitors will face losses with this, he said.
