Jaganmohan, younger brother of the Jedcherla TDP MLA A chandrasekhar (Erra Sekhar) was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Devara Kadra on Wednesday.
According to information, the assailants came in a vehicle and opened fire at Jaganmohan who was sitting in a tea stall and taking tea near the bus stand. He died on the spot.
Sarpanch elections are suspected to be the reason for the murder. Jaganmohan’s wife Asrita is contesting as Sarpanch in Pedda Chintakunta under Dhanwada mandal.
The wives of the two brothers had reportedly filed nominations for gram panchayat elections. Wednesday was the last day to withdraw nominations. Jaganmohan’s wife refused to withdraw from the contest.
