In what could be the first time where AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has attacked someone personally, he reacted aggressively to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements made in Guntur at BJP public meeting today. In a sensational comment, the Chief Minister fired at Modi and said: “The Prime Minister is attacking me personally. So, let me also ask him why he has abandoned his wife Yashodaben? He doesn’t understand family values or relations. He has never respected his own seniors in BJP.”
Explaining his stand on TDP becoming part of Mahaghatbandhan, Chandrababu said: “I have joined Mahaghatbandhan to ensure justice to people of AP and to ensure that democracy is not in danger. Whatever TDP does is for its people. I didn’t join Mahaghatbandhan for my own benefit. It is because of injustice meted out to us, that has brought all parties to come together against BJP. It is not U-turn, mine is right turn.”
I-T, ED raids are something that do not scare us, said the TDP Chief, adding that the Backward areas of AP should get Rs. 24,000 crore from the Centre. “But, What did the Centre do? They credited the money and then immediately debited it from our accounts. Now, he is ensuring that raids are done on those people who question him!,” he said.
“Where is the belief that you had in me? Why didn’t you then fulfill the promises made in the Act? You are unable to fulfill promises and then, you come to AP just to attack me?” questioned Chandrababu, stating that Modi is a “publicity PM.”
“GST and Demonetisation are Tughlaq decisions. GST could not be implemented properly. Modi has handicapped the financial as well as banking system. RBI governor also resigned because of this government’s excesses. PM is letting big businessmen do financial frauds and get out of country,” he said, seeking the PM’s response on these issues.
Interestingly, Chandrababu also said: “How is a ‘Chaiwallah PM’ as Modi proudly claims, maintaining his designer-wear collection? When does he behave like he is a chaiwallah as he always claims and seeks sympathy,” he questioned.
Quoting the reports by Jana Sena Founder Pawan Kalyan and Lok Satta’s Jayaprakash Narayan that said that the Centre nearly has to give around Rs. 60,000 crore to Rs. 1 lakh crore to AP, he said that “we don’t understand why they didn’t speak about assurances in the Act? YS Jagan is silent now? We do not sing praises for BJP like YSRCP and hence, the Party is now harassing us.”
“He called me Lokesh’s father. I’m happy and proud to be his father. But, Modi doesn’t understand the value of family relations because he has abandoned his wife, Yashodaben and doesn’t even acknowledge her presence,” he criticised the Prime Minister.
“We have worked to make AP top in almost every aspects. We have made great strides and progress in developing the state. The Centre itself gave the rankings for development of Andhra Pradesh,” he said, stating that the TDP government is committed towards AP’s development.
