Modi’s assets rise 52% in 5 years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has filed nomination for the Varanasi Parliamentary seat on Friday and the election affidavit reveals that his assets increased by 52 percent in the last five years.

Modi has declared his total assets which are worth Rs 2.51 crore. His movable assets are valued at Rs Rs 1.41 crore while unmovable assets are estimated to be worth Rs 1.10 crore. In 2014, Modi had movable assets worth Rs 65.91 lakh.

As on March 31, 2019, Modi had Rs 38,750 as cash in hand and his bank balance is Rs 4,143. Apart from this Modi has Rs 1.27 core as fixed deposits in the State Bank of India. Also he has savings worth Rs 7.61 lakh in the form of National Savings Certificates and Rs 1.90 lakh as life insurance.

The yellow metal assets are of four gold rings (45 grams in weight) that have a valuation of Rs 1,13,800.

In the last five financial years, PM Modi declared that his annual income is as Rs. 19.92 lakh (2018), Rs. 14.59 lakh (2017), Rs. 19.23 lakh (2016), Rs. 8.58 lakh (2015) and Rs. 9.69 lakh (2014).

As per the election affidavit, Modi does not have any criminal case against him and about his educational qualification, Modi holds a Master of Arts degree from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad.
