This gesture has caught the attention of the Indian film industry, especially since Bollywood is often accused of looking down on regional cinema.
Mohit Suri’s latest release, Sayara, which hit screens on July 18, opened as a small film but has gone on to receive widespread acclaim and impressive box office numbers. Viewers are calling it a refreshing and much-needed success for Bollywood.
Interestingly, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was among the first to recognize Sayara’s potential. After watching the trailer, he took to social media to praise the film and declared that he would be watching the first-day, first-show. He even referred to the film as “Mohit’s magic.” Staying true to Vanga’s words, Sayara is now exceeding expectations and has collected over ₹150 crore in just one week.
Following this success, Mohit Suri thanked Sandeep Reddy Vanga publicly. He said that even when they hadn’t met in person, Sandeep supported Sayara right from its announcement. Mohit expressed that he deeply admires Sandeep not only as a filmmaker but also for his fearless approach to storytelling.
“I respect him for speaking his mind and find great inspiration in his style of filmmaking. It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of people like him. I’ll always remain a fan,” Mohit wrote in his heartfelt post, which has now gone viral on social media.
