Mosagallaku Mosagadu Review

Story:

Krish (Sudhir Babu) makes a living out of the money made from cheating people. One day he is assigned a task of stealing of Seeta – Rama Idols of Ramalayyam in Ayodhya, by Kaushik (Jaya Prakash Reddy) and his gang who works for a don (Abhimanyu Singh). When they were about to cut a big deal with that statue, Krish runs away with it shocking the gang. Why did he do that? What happens next is the remaining part of the story.

Performances:

Sudhir Babu put up a better performance in the character. Pankaj Kesari is too good as the investigating officer while Rakta charitra fame Abhimanyu Singh is decent but is not proper used in poorly etched character. Nandini Rai is good locking with innocent features and delivers a fine performance.

Jaya Prakash Reddy, Duvvasi Mohan, Fish Venkat and Sapthagiri brings in the much needed laughs to the story. Chandra Mohan is okay as a school teacher.

Analysis:

The movie is publicized as the sequel to Swamy Ra Ra but is incomparable to the film in any case. Director Bose Nelluri is the culprit with average direction and poor narration combined with very predictable scenes and slow pace. The actual story of the film only begins just before the interval until then, the director bores us with badly written love track between the lead pair.

The second half also suffers predictability but the only saving grace is some good chemistry. The movie being a crime thriller should have some good pace and interesting twists which are totally absent. Technical Performances: Kannada musician Manikanth Kadri came up with an average album. Two songs have been well shot.

The Background Score is good and he needs a pat on the back for the introduction scores for Sudheer Babu and Abhimanyu Singh. Cinematography by Ummadisingu Sai Prakash is good. He managed to capture some good locales to give a fresh feel to the film. The Editor should have easily chopped off some good 20 minutes in the first half. The Production values are appropriate.

Plus Points:

  • Few Performances
  • Some Comedy towards the end

Minus Points:

  • Predictable Narration
  • Dragged screenplay
  • Chemistry between the leads
  • Dragged First Half
  • Direction

Final Say: If you are carrying the impression of Swamy Ra Ra on this film, you may have to learn that you are just being cheated. The film is not match to Swamy Ra Ra or for that matter any good crime thriller due to the poor job of the director. Try it only if you want that comedy coming towards the end of the film.
