Movie On Floods Creating Records In Kerala!

It has been proved in every film industry that content is always the king. A spy thriller made with 80 crores budget has failed very badly while a mystery thriller made on less than half of the budget earned over 50 crores and turned out to be a blockbuster. We see a lot of such things at the box office every weekend. Recently, a movie titled ‘2018’ was released in Kerala last weekend. It is creating records at the box office by earning more than 10 crores within just 3 days. A few theatres in Hyderabad screened this film on Sunday and it ran with houseful boards.

Basically, it is a movie based on the Kerala floods which arrived in 2018. We have heard a lot about it at that time and director Anthony Joseph made it the film’s backdrop and delivered a fantastic movie. Tovino Thomas played the role of the hero who comes out of the military due to fake certificates. He gets involved in local politics and the sudden rains along with huge floods made him fight for his family. The movie showcased every scenario starting from fishermen to people who were rescued through helicopters.

The best part of this movie is the drama. The arresting screenplay and wonderful narration made this film an amazing watch. Despite the limited budget, the emotions and superb visuals stunned everyone. The Kerala people who suffered due to the floods have related to this movie instantly. The disaster backdrop is common in many Malayalam movies but it is quite rare in Tollywood. Now, there are arrangements being made to dub ‘2018’ in Telugu.
