Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon breathed his last at the hospital on Tuesday morning. This was reported by his son Ashutosh Tandon via twitter, who had been taking care of him. Lalji Tandon, who was critically ill, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. He was placed on a ventilator as his health condition was serious due to age related problems. Reportedly, he was bedridden in hospital since June 11th and had been suffering from breathing problems, difficulty in urinating and fever.
Inspite of putting on ventilator, it was known that his health condition aggravated and had shown no signs of improvement. Lalji died at 85 this morning while receiving treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, president and the Madhya Pradesh government have expressed shock over his death. Also many other politicians who came to know the death news of Governor Lalji Tandon grieved his death and shared deep condolences to his family.
PM Modi tweeted, “Shri Lalji Tandon will be remembered for his untiring efforts to serve society. He played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He made a mark as an effective administrator, always giving importance of public welfare. Anguished by his passing away”.
