Munawar Faruqui’s Hilarious First Copy Promo Goes Viral

Comedian-actor Munawar Faruqui has kicked off a hilarious promotional spree for his scripted series debut First Copy, now streaming for free on Amazon MX Player. True to his comic style, Munawar’s promotion feels more like a comedy sketch than a marketing campaign — and fans can’t stop watching.

In a new video on his YouTube channel, Munawar tries to enlist celebrity friends to help promote the show, only to face a series of comic disasters. From unanswered calls to Farah Khan and Samay Raina to Raj Shamani bombarding him with marketing jargon, nothing goes according to plan. Even when he reaches out to dance duo Piyush and Shazia, Munawar hilariously botches the choreography, and singer Tony Kakkar advises him to “buy a black-and-white TV for inspiration.”

Eventually, Farah Khan picks up and improvises a skit built entirely around the words “First Copy,” while Samay Raina’s bizarre ideas feel too strange even for the metaverse. The video, dubbed “peak Munawar,” proves that sometimes a messy promotional stunt can be the most entertaining show of all.

Also starring Krystle D’Souza, Gulshan Grover, Ashi Singh, Meiyang Chang, and more, First Copy is a comedy-drama series streaming for free on Amazon MX Player across mobile, Fire TV, Prime Video, and the Amazon shopping app. And as fans are saying — when you have Munawar’s comic genius and an unpredictable guest list like this, who needs a traditional marketing campaign?
