N Chandrababu Naidu And Ramesh Kumar Reacts On HC Verdict

The AP High Court on Thursday has given its nod for holding local bodies elections in the state. Reacting to the HC verdict, State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has expressed his happiness and said the elections would be held in 4 phases as per the High Court orders.

Ramesh Kumar said that they will hold panchayat elections on the 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th of next month. The Electoral Code is already in force in rural areas. He also said that welfare programs affect people and he has taken this issue to Cheif Secretary of AP. The government has already announced that it will co-operate in the elections. We will hold a meeting with CS, DGP, collectors and SPs soon, SEC Ramesh Kumar told media.

On the other, the opposition parties in the state welcomed the court verdict on Thursday. TDP chief and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu held a press meet in Amravati and welcomed the High Court verdict. CBN criticised the AP government for their continuous efforts to prevent the elections. He advised the AP DGP to respect the uniform and act according to the constitution. The former CM also cited that justice will not change with the change of judges in the court.
