Nag Ashwin has quickly established himself as one of the most successful filmmakers in Indian cinema. With only three films to his credit, the reception he has garnered is nothing short of phenomenal. While he is currently busy with the pre-production of Kalki 2, fresh buzz suggests that he may soon collaborate with none other than Superstar Rajinikanth.
Having already directed stalwarts like Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in Kalki, Nag Ashwin is now reportedly in talks with Rajinikanth. Sources reveal that the director pitched an idea to the superstar, who was highly impressed and asked him to develop it further.
If this project materializes, it would mark Rajinikanth’s rare collaboration with a Telugu filmmaker after a long gap. Moreover, it would place Nag Ashwin in an elite league of directors, like Lokesh Kanagaraj, who have had the honor of working with both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.
Known for his penchant for grand, larger-than-life narratives and experimental storytelling, Nag Ashwin is expected to bring out a fresh and powerful side of Rajinikanth on screen. Since the director has frequently collaborated with Vyjayanthi Movies, there is strong speculation that this project too might be backed by the same banner.
