It is known that producer Suresh Babu has acquired the remake rights for Tamil blockbuster Maanaadu in multiple Indian languages. The film, written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, featured Silambarasan, SJ Suryah and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles.
The latest buzz in the film circles is that Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is in talks for the Telugu remake of Maanaadu. It is heard that the production team is said to have roped in the Manam actor to step into the shoes of Silambarasan aka Simbu in the remake. However, there is no official word on this update yet. If the actor gives his nod, it remains to be seen who will direct the Telugu remake.
Maanaadu is a time-loop based political thriller that tells the tale of a common man and a police officer, who are trapped in a time loop.
The film’s ensemble cast also included actors like Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, and Y Gee Mahendran, among others.
