The generous contribution will be utilized to provide scholarships for deserving students, reinforcing the college’s commitment to education and social upliftment.
Nagarjuna attended the event as the chief guest, where he also inaugurated a newly constructed building on the campus. On the occasion, he paid rich tribute to his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), recalling how ANR had donated ₹1 lakh to the same college in 1959.
Addressing the gathering, Nagarjuna said that his father held education in the highest regard and strongly believed in empowering future generations through learning. He added that despite not having formal education himself, ANR consistently worked toward supporting education and improving the lives of many people.
The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu and other prominent personalities. Founded in 1950, ANR College expressed gratitude to Nagarjuna for his generous donation and acknowledged his continued support toward promoting education and student welfare.
