Seasoned star Nagarjuna, fresh from impactful turns in Kuberaa and Coolie, is set to don the hero’s mantle once again. Insiders reveal that he formally agreed—just two days ago—to headline a new, hero-centric script by Tamil director R. Karthick, famed for Nitham Oru Vaanam. The collaboration is poised to go into production shortly.
Nagarjuna’s last outing as the central protagonist was Naa Saami Ranga, a rustic romance-action blend that enjoyed strong box-office returns. While he’s lately embraced diverse “special” roles—portraying an upright officer opposite Dhanush in the multi-starrer Kuberaa and delivering a brief but flamboyant cameo in Coolie—he’s eager to return to his comfort zone as the leading man.
By alternating between supporting turns and full-fledged hero roles, Nagarjuna has reaffirmed his versatility, breaking free from his earlier lover-boy and action-hero image.
