The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), eager to secure victory in the Delhi assembly elections, is pulling out all stops by leveraging its alliances for the campaign.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to campaign for BJP candidates in Delhi. Naidu is expected to arrive in New Delhi on Saturday night and will campaign in areas with a significant Telugu voter base on February 2 (Sunday). BJP’s local leaders have reportedly finalized the campaign schedule.
Reports indicate that around six lakh voters from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana reside in Delhi, making their support crucial for the BJP.
Given the importance of each constituency, the BJP is going all out to win over voters. Naidu’s campaign will focus on emphasizing BJP’s accomplishments and urging voters to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Interestingly, there has been no confirmation about Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan campaigning on behalf of BJP in the Delhi elections. While BJP leaders hinted that Kalyan might join the campaign, no official schedule has been announced.
The election campaign is set to conclude on February 3, with polling scheduled for February 5.
During the Maharashtra assembly elections last year, both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan were initially scheduled to campaign for BJP, but Naidu had to return to Andhra Pradesh due to the demise of his brother Ramamurthy Naidu.
Pawan Kalyan, however, campaigned extensively in Maharashtra and played a pivotal role in securing victories for the BJP-led alliance in constituencies where he was active.
All eyes are now on the voter response in Delhi’s Telugu-dominated constituencies where Chandrababu Naidu is set to campaign.
