Revolutionary actor and producer R Narayana Murthy is a unique character in film industry. Though he played several characters exposing the ruling class, he never showed any interest in entering active politics, though he has connections with political parties and leaders.
In a recent interview to a channel, Narayana Murthy disclosed an interesting development. He said several political parties tried to rope him into politics, but he never succumbed to such offers, though they were very attractive.
He said Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had offered him ticket to fight the Lok Sabha elections, not once but thrice.
“But I politely declined the offer,” he said.
The Congress party, too, offered him a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections in 2004 and another prominent political party in 2014 elections.
“But I was not interested in politics and so, I turned down all the offers,” he said.
Stating that politics in a full-time job, he said that one should enter politics only if they are willing to work 24 hours a day for the people.
He further said that NTR had created history by joining politics and after him, YSR alone had such character.
