Naidu–Pawan Lead Strong, MLAs Raise Concerns

The top leadership of Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, appears to be working in strong coordination, consistently emphasizing people-centric governance and actively engaging with the public.

Despite being over 75, Chandrababu Naidu continues to remain highly active, regularly visiting rural areas to distribute pensions and participating in party meetings and administrative reviews on a frequent basis. His hands-on approach reflects a clear focus on staying connected with grassroots issues.

Similarly, Pawan Kalyan has been equally proactive in his role. From visiting remote tribal agency regions to attending key party events, he has been actively reaching out to the public. During recent interactions, he highlighted the initiatives of the NDA government and stressed its willingness to address people’s concerns—contrasting it with the previous administration under Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

However, while the top leadership is setting an example, concerns are emerging at the level of MLAs and MPs. Reports of some legislators being involved in controversies, including allegations related to misconduct and corruption, have raised questions about the alliance’s internal discipline. A recent case involving an MP in a drug-related issue has further added to the concerns.

Political observers note that while such issues were also seen during the previous government, the lack of corrective action then contributed to public dissatisfaction. In contrast, expectations are now higher from the current NDA alliance, given the visible efforts of its top leaders.

Analysts point out that the alliance’s return to power was largely driven by the relentless efforts of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. However, for sustained public trust, it is equally important for elected representatives at all levels to uphold accountability and maintain social responsibility.
