Producer Namit Malhotra, who is backing a grand cinematic adaptation of the epic Ramayana, has
revealed that his biggest inspiration for the project is Rajamouli’s RRR. When news of the Ramayana film first surfaced, many skeptics drew comparisons to Adipurush. However, the recently released glimpse has changed perceptions, showcasing visuals that promise a larger-than-life, serious, and authentic portrayal.

Namit disclosed that the film is being crafted with top international technicians and an enormous budget of ₹4,000 crore, spread across two parts. This staggering investment has naturally raised questions about its viability and the scale of storytelling that could warrant such a budget.

Addressing these concerns, Namit cited the global success of RRR as his source of confidence. While films like Slumdog Millionaire and Gandhi introduced Indian narratives to the world, Namit believes RRR reshaped global perceptions by showcasing the power, grandeur, and vibrancy of Indian storytelling. According to him, Rajamouli’s achievement lies in making Hollywood and international audiences recognize this potential.

Namit further emphasized that the outdated global view of India as a land of poverty and helplessness no longer holds true. He views Ramayana as not just a mythological tale but a foundational story of global evolution. His ambition is to present Ramayana on a scale that resonates with audiences worldwide, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage through a cinematic epic.
