Nandamuri Balakrishna Receives Padma Bhushan for Contributions to Art


Renowned Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of art. This distinguished recognition was announced today, ahead of Republic Day, as part of the Padma Awards for 2025.

A total of 139 Padma Awards were revealed, with 113 recipients receiving the Padma Shri, 19 being awarded the Padma Bhushan, and seven individuals conferred with the Padma Vibhushan. Balakrishna’s accolade comes as a testament to his immense impact on the Indian film industry, particularly in Telugu cinema, where he has established himself as a revered icon through his multifaceted career spanning several decades.

Additionally, Dr. Duvvuri Nageshwar Reddy from Telangana was also honored with the Padma Bhushan for his exemplary services in the field of medicine and healthcare. Both Balakrishna and Dr. Nageshwar Reddy’s awards highlight their outstanding contributions to their respective fields and their lasting legacy within Indian society.
