Nani Implies AP govt is insulting the Cinema Audience

Nani has always been very vocal while speaking against the government of Andhra Pradesh’s restrictions on the Telugu film industry. A while back, he stated that the governments are leaving petrol, diesel, and other essential commodity prices to the air and focusing only on cinema ticket prices. Nani’s strong comments created a sensation back then. Now, Nani has stood up for the film industry again and he has taken a firm stand against the imposition of unprecedented norms on the theatrical industry in Andhra Pradesh.

“What is happening in Andhra Pradesh is not right. It is unfair to suppress the industry which provides livelihood to so many people in such a way. It doesn’t make any sense in the first place. A theatre management which provides livelihood to many people is making less money than a grocery store or a pan shop beside their premises. This is a dire situation and it doesn’t make any sense. How can this be an economically feasible modus operandi?,” Nani said while speaking at a promotional event today/

“Keeping aside cinema, and politics aside, it is unfair to impose so impose so many restrictions on the industry, as a whole. Capping the cinema admission prices at Rs 10, and Rs15 is insulting the audience,” Nani said while speaking about Andhra Pradesh government’s newly imposed restrictions. He questioned the need to bring in such radical changes in the ticket pricing system that is not even related to the state government.

Nani further added that his comments on the issue might be blown out of proportion and remembered the fact that his film is releasing tomorrow. Nani implied that the state government should go easy on the film industry, which has been directly helping thousands of families. He maintained a rather honest and serious tone while making these comments and rightly so. Nani’s comments drew a great response from the media fraternity that was covering the event live.

It remains to be seen if the state government will understand the plight of the film industry and provide them with the necessary amenities. Else, new Telugu releases will be facing a tough situation in Andhra Pradesh.
