Nani’s indirect counter to AP govt’s price slab restrictions

Nani attended the pre-release event of Thimmarasu yesterday and made a few interesting comments about the current problems that are being faced by film fraternity as a whole.

“Watching movies in theaters is a birth right of Telugu audiences. We spend the most amount of time at cinema halls after our houses. Lakhs of families are dependent on cinema theaters. This isn’t just about heroes and producers,” he said.

Nani also gave an indirect counter to the Andhra Pradesh government’s ticket pricing slab restrictions.

“At a time when the prices of essential commodities like petrol diesel, cooking oil and others are reaching new highs, it isn’t quite right to focus on ticket pricing at cinema halls. I hope the governments and we all collectively can sort out the issue soon,” he said.

It is known that the government of Andhra Pradesh recently introduced a new order, which caps the ticket prices in cinema halls. Tollywood fraternity is requesting the Andhra Pradesh government to cancel the G.O and permit flexible ticket pricing at cinema halls. Nani’s comments seem to be in this context.
