The attack on TDP headquarters at Mangalagiri on Tuesday has become a hot topic in Telugu state’s politics.
However, Guntur police on Wednesday registered cases against TDP MLC Nara Lokesh and other party leaders for attacking an inspector of police, named Nayak, at the TDP headquarters at Mangalagiri.
In his complaint to the police, the Circle inspector said he was abused by the TDP leaders. He named Lokesh as accused no 1 in the case, and mentioned Ashok Babu, Alapati raja and Tenali Sravan as A2, A3 and A4 respectively.
Nayak said he was abused in the name of his caste, severely beaten by Lokesh and others. The case has been booked under various sections of the IPC and also under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
In the FIR, it was mentioned that Mangalagiri Rural police rescued Nayak around 10.30 pm and shifted him to Guntur General Hospital.
