Nara Lokesh Earns Rare Praise from Rival Leader

TDP National General Secretary and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is making his mark both in politics and governance. From a party that was once reduced to just 23 MLAs and 3 MPs, Lokesh played a crucial role in its resurgence through his Yuvagalam Padayatra, leading TDP to a massive victory with 135 MLAs and 18 MPs in the latest elections.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed—even by political rivals. A striking example came on Sunday when senior YSRCP leader and former Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy openly lauded Lokesh’s leadership. During a chance encounter at the wedding reception of former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s grandson at the Swarna Bharati Trust premises near Venkatagiri, Mekapati greeted Lokesh with a rare show of appreciation. As soon as he saw him, Mekapati stood up, patted him on the shoulder, and said, “Shabash, Lokesh!”—a notable compliment coming from an opposition leader.

Beyond acknowledging Lokesh’s efforts in rebuilding the TDP, Mekapati also praised his growing administrative skills. A video of the interaction surfaced on social media on Monday and quickly went viral, further cementing Lokesh’s rising stature in state politics.
