Andhra Pradesh is celebrating a landmark achievement with the arrival of the Google data centre in Vizag, one of the state’s most significant investments. While the Telugu community has welcomed this development, the YSR Congress Party (YCP) has shown a polarized response.
Several YCP leaders have commented on the investment, but Sakshi media has been running programs criticizing and defaming the project, even airing prime-time shows portraying the Google investment in a negative light. These narratives have sparked strong reactions from the state’s IT Minister, Nara Lokesh.
Lokesh called out the YCP ecosystem and Chief Minister YS Jagan, accusing them of spreading fabricated narratives. “They preach development in speeches but oppose it in court, filing fake cases one after another. They spread lies in press conferences, pitting caste against caste, region against region. They spare no effort to stall Andhra Pradesh’s rise,” Lokesh tweeted.
He further emphasized that every project the YCP tries to block not only delays progress but also dampens the hopes of the youth seeking opportunities. “So I ask @ysjagan garu – why this hostility to progress? Why this hatred for the youth of Andhra Pradesh?” Lokesh questioned, expressing strong disapproval of the negative portrayal of the Google Centre in Vizag.
