Telugu Desam Party has rolled out a Free Accident Insurance Scheme to the active members of it along with the party membership. In case of sudden death of such member, Rs. 2 lakh will be given to the family members while Rs.50,000 will be given to those injured depending on the severity of injuries sustained. In the event of death, party will also take care of the education of two children in each family if the dead person is the head of the family.
The party had also tied up with 27 Corporate hospital to treat the cadre. The membership drive of the party will begin from November 3rd in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Orissa. The party which was only confined to Telugu States so far is extending to every state where there is a significant Telugu population as it harbours the hopes to become a national party. 1600 youngsters with tablets will be conducting the membership drive to enroll the targeted 18 Lakhs to 25 Lakhs new members.
This was announced by Nara Lokesh, TDP’s coordinator for cadre welfare and son of party supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu in his maiden press conference. It is already known that TDP has setup a Cadre Welfare Fund to take care of its party workers on the idea of Nara Lokesh in the last Mahanadu.
