Nations must ensure Crypto is not in wrong hands: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that all nations should work together on cryptocurrency to ensure that it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands. Modi virtually participated in ‘The Sydney Dialogue’ conference in Australia. The Prime Minister delivered a keynote address on ‘India Technology Evolution and Revolution’.

“We are now undergoing crucial changes. This digital age is changing everything around us. It is giving new meanings to political, economic and social issues. Raising new questions on issues such as brotherhood, governance, values, law, rights, security, etc. It is giving a new look to leadership, creating opportunities for development and wealth. At the same time, we are also facing new dangers. In today’s generation, technology and data are becoming the new lifeblood. The biggest strength of democracy is transparency. We all have a responsibility to ensure that this is not abused for selfish purposes,” Narendra Modi said.

PM Modi’s caution comes days after he held talks on how to move forward on cryptocurrency in India.

Referring to Indian technology, Modi said, “India is the third-largest, fastest growing ecosystem in the world. We are building the world’s most valuable public information infrastructure. We are on track to connect six lakh villages to the Internet.”
