Among the current generation of young actors, Naveen Polishetty stands out as one of the most talented. Starting with small roles during the days of Sekhar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful, Naveen gradually carved his space in the industry. It was Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya that brought him major recognition, and Jathi Ratnalu turned him into a sensation. Two years ago, he entertained audiences with Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, once again proving his comic timing and screen presence.
However, after a minor accident, Naveen had to take a brief break from shoots. He is now making his comeback with Anaganaga Oka Raju, under the Sithara Entertainments banner. Meenakshi Chaudhary stars opposite him in this film. Initially, director Kalyan Shankar was supposed to helm the project, but a change was made and a new director took over.
Anaganaga Oka Raju is slated for a Sankranthi release next year. The extended timeline has raised some curiosity—why such a long wait? While reasons are unclear, fans feel that this delay during a high point in Naveen’s career could affect his momentum. Adding to the concern is the fact that there is still no clarity on what his next project will be after this.
Reportedly, Anaganaga Oka Raju will continue filming for another six months. Whether Naveen locks in his next project during this period or takes more time like before is yet to be seen. While it’s known that he is extremely selective with scripts — aiming for quality over quantity — long gaps between releases could be risky. That said, audiences always enjoy his performances when he delivers, and a little extra time is acceptable if it results in strong cinema — which seems to be Naveen’s approach.
Now all eyes are on Anaganaga Oka Raju. Will this film mark the beginning of a faster pace in Naveen Polishetty’s career? Fans are certainly hoping so.
