Nayanthara Addresses Marriage Rumors, Reflects on Past with Prabhu Deva

Nayanthara, one of South India’s most celebrated actresses, has maintained her position at the top for over two decades. Since her debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare, she has delivered numerous blockbusters across languages and continues to remain a prominent force in Indian cinema. Currently, she is working on several projects including Mannangatti Since 1960, Toxic, Dear Students, Patriot, Mookuthi Amman 2, Hi, and Rakkaye. Alongside acting, she is also active as a producer and brand collaborator, keeping her constantly in the spotlight.

Recently, rumors swirled regarding issues in her marriage with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. In what appeared to be a subtle response to the speculation, Nayanthara was seen visiting the Murugan temple with her husband and their children, putting to rest the gossip — at least for now.

Meanwhile, her past relationship with Prabhu Deva has once again come into public discussion. Their romance, once the talk of Kollywood, ended abruptly before marriage. According to reports, Prabhu Deva allegedly asked Nayanthara to convert to Islam, quit acting, and settle into a traditional family life. While she was reportedly willing to make those sacrifices, the relationship fell apart when he insisted that his children from his previous marriage live with them — a condition she couldn’t accept.

Nayanthara has been candid in the past about how deeply she was invested in the relationship. She admitted she was ready to give up her flourishing career for love. However, with time and reflection, she believes walking away was the right decision — even though it came with emotional challenges.

Today, Nayanthara stands as an icon of strength, both professionally and personally, continuing to redefine success on her own terms.
