Legendary Indian Cricketer, God Of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar has supported the Indian government in Agri bills row and made a tweet in which he said, Indians should decide for India and urged everyone to stay united.
However, this did not go well with many. After netizens, several politicians, including NCP Chief Sharad Pawar found fault with Sachin’s intervention and advised him to not speak anything other than Cricket.
News Agency ANI quoted Sharad Pawar as saying, Many people have reacted to the stand taken by the Indian celebrities in the issue. I would urge Sachin to exercise caution while speaking about any other field.
The NCP Chief has also found fault with the Centre over the way the government is treating the farmers. He said it is not fair on the Centre’s part to call farmers Khalistanis or terrorists.
Mr. Pawar advising Sachin Tendulkar over his comments on Agri bills has irked BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi. In her tweet, she said how about advising the same to Mia Khalifa, Rihanna, and Greta Thunberg!
‘How I feel his advice was made available to Mia Khalifa, Rihanna and Greta Thunberg! I was also thinking what about knowing and yet not speaking, since he has been a former Agriculture Minister, worked with APMCs (and) issued letters in favour of reforms…’ the MP’s tweet read.
On the other hand, Sachin supporters slammed the NCP chief over his comments on Sachin Tendulkar. Netizens opined that it is not the right way to make comments on a person who brought respect for the game for over two decades.
