After the likes of Ram Gopal Varma, Krishna Vamsi, Puri Jagannadh, Ajay Bhuyan, and Krish Jagarlamudi, director Neelakanta is the latest to join the legion of Telugu directors who are entering Bollywood. Going by reports, Neelakanta is all set to make his Bollywood debut.
The national-award winning filmmaker is in talks with Bollywood production houses for the Hindi remake of Maaya. Leading producer Mahesh Bhatt was impressed with Neelakanta and want him to direct the film in Hindi as well under Vishesh Films banner. Although the meeting was happened sometime back, Neelakanta finally now made his mind to do the film in Hindi.
Tipped to be Tollywood’s first film on Extrasensory Perception (ESP), the movie starring Harshavardhan Rane and Avanthika, had an average run at Box Office. Buzz is that Mahesh Bhatt would be roping in Emraan Hashmi for the lead role. If all goes well, Neelakanta will direct “serial kisser” Emraan. It goes without saying that Hindi Maaya will have all that Masala.
