Starting May 2025, the Philippines is expanding its travel facilitation measures by offering Indian citizens two new visa-free entry options, complementing the existing e-visa system. This initiative, announced by the Embassy of the Philippines in New Delhi, aims to boost tourism from India by providing greater convenience and flexibility for travelers exploring the country’s renowned beaches and islands.
New Visa-Free Entry Categories
14-Day Visa-Free Entry
Indian passport holders can now enter the Philippines for up to 14 days without a visa, exclusively for tourism purposes. This entry option is non-extendable and cannot be converted to other visa types. Travelers can use all major entry points, including airports, seaports, and cruise terminals.
Eligibility requirements include:
Valid passport with at least six months’ validity beyond the stay
Proof of accommodation and return or onward travel tickets
Evidence of sufficient financial means
No prior negative immigration records in the Philippines
30-Day Visa-Free Entry for AJACSSUK Visa/Residency Holders
Indian nationals holding valid visas or permanent residency from Australia, Japan, America, Canada, Schengen countries, Singapore, or the United Kingdom qualify for a 30-day visa-free stay. This option is also strictly for tourism, non-extendable, and requires:
Valid AJACSSUK visa or permanent residency
Passport valid for six months beyond the visit
Confirmed return or onward travel
Clean immigration history in the Philippines
Continued Availability of E-Visa Option
For travelers who do not meet the criteria for visa-free entry, the Philippines’ 9(a) Temporary Visitor Visa remains accessible through the official e-visa portal. This visa allows a 30-day single-entry stay for tourism, subject to standard documentation such as passport, identification, accommodation proof, return ticket, and financial evidence.
These new provisions mark a significant step in enhancing bilateral tourism ties and simplifying travel logistics for Indian tourists seeking to experience the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Philippines.
