Nimmagadda Is A Criminal, Says Sai Reddy

The YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh does not want Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to continue as State Election Commissioner even for a day, as was evident from the SLP filed by it in the Supreme Court on Monday.

The reason is simple: Nimmagadda had made wild allegations against YSR Congress party in general and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in particular, in his complaint made to the Union home ministry while seeking additional security to him and his family alleging threat from the government.

“He has a criminal mentality. Being in a Constitutional position, he cannot spew venom on the government. Everybody knows what he had said in the letter. He called the ruling party leaders as factionists and goondas. His attitude is an affront on the democracy,” YSRC general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy said on Monday.

He said the letter was fabricated in the office of the Telugu Desam Party and he had lodged a complaint with the DGP in this regard and the CID was investigating the same.

“There is no doubt that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar resorted to a criminal act. I wonder whether he was there to protect the democracy or devouring it,” Sai Reddy said.

The YSRC leader pointed out that if the high court judgement was to be studied carefully, it would definitely indicate that Nimmagadda’s appointment was illegal.

“We are approaching the Supreme Court highlighting these issues,” he said.

Sai Reddy said Nimmagadda had no answer to the points raised by the advocate general.

“He is too eager to get back to his post and issued his own reinstatement orders. This is unprecedented, as every order has to come from the government. This is nothing but Axis of Evil. There is a need to protect the democracy from such people, who are an affront on the society,” he said.

The YSRC leader wondered why the TDP had moved the court in favour of Nimmagadda.

“One can understand Nimmagadda approaching the court to protect his tenure. What is the interest of the TDP in this? In what way does it make a difference if Nimmagadda or some other person stays in the SEC post?” he asked.

He alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu wants that his close followers should continue in the same posts even after he had lost power in the state.
