The Sankranti season in Tollywood is always a battlefield, with senior stars and young, energetic heroes gearing up to compete for box office supremacy. This year, pan-India stars like Prabhas, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, Sharwanand, and Naveen Polishetty all joined the race. Naturally, out of this lineup, only a few films could emerge as true winners. Among them, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is currently generating the most buzz.

After a long break, Chiranjeevi returned with his trademark timing, delivering a performance packed with comedic punches in every scene. Audiences have been particularly drawn to the film because of this signature style. Adding to the appeal, Venkatesh makes a pivotal guest appearance, and the scenes between Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh have become a highlight, providing laughter and delight for fans of both actors. This has sparked renewed discussion about Venkatesh’s successful guest roles in Telugu cinema.

Over the years, films featuring Venkatesh in guest or supporting roles have often turned out to be superhits. In contrast, similar appearances by King Nagarjuna have not always delivered at the box office. For instance, films like Premam, Oori Devuda, and now Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu featuring Venkatesh have been huge hits, whereas movies with Nagarjuna in cameo or supporting roles, such as Brahmastra, underperformed.

Similarly, in Dhanush’s Kubera, Nagarjuna played CBI officer Deepak Tej. Despite applause for his performance, the film failed to generate significant revenue. Even Superstar Rajinikanth’s Koolee, where Simone Xavier played a villainous role, ended up being a box office flop.

In contrast, Venkatesh’s films have consistently performed well commercially. His recent extended cameo in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu contributed to its superhit status and record-breaking collections. Fans now believe that the trend should focus on strong storylines and well-written characters rather than just star power or remuneration. According to audiences, prioritizing scripts and roles over casting alone is the key to consistent box office success in the future.
