Talented and refreshingly grounded, Nithya Menen has carved a niche for herself in the film industry with her thoughtful role selections and mature perspective. She consistently prioritizes substance over stardom, choosing roles that resonate emotionally and socially with audiences. Currently, she is busy promoting her latest film Thalaivaan Thalaivi, in which she stars alongside Vijay Sethupathi.
In a recent candid interview, Nithya opened up about the film, her experience working with Sethupathi, and her thoughts on life, recognition, and marriage. She revealed that it was the clarity and conviction of director Pandiraj that drew her to the role in Thalaivaan Thalaivi. Having previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi in 19(1)(A), she said this collaboration gave them more screen time together and a chance to build on their on-screen chemistry. “Chemistry on screen only works when you give your complete self to the role,” she noted.
Beyond cinema, Nithya shared her reflections on personal life and societal expectations. Speaking about marriage, she said, “Marriage is just a part of life, not the whole of it.” She acknowledged that earlier, she did feel the pressure from family and society, but over time, she has grown comfortable walking her own path. While she does occasionally feel the absence of a partner, she believes fulfillment can come from many sources, not just relationships.
Nithya’s honest, practical, and emotionally intelligent approach to both her career and personal life continues to inspire fans, proving once again why she is admired not just as a performer, but as a person of depth and integrity.
