Following the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise to AP CM Chandrababu over granting the state a special package, the Telangana CM KCR is readying himself to meet the PM and others to discuss about announcing a special package for Telangana.
Speaking about his Delhi visit before his China tour, KCR said in a press meet in Karimnagar that the state government must have written 50 letters to the PM asking for special package. The CM said that he had met Modi on six occasions and also the Union Minster of Finance Arun Jaitely but his requests have not been considered yet.
KCR said that he will also request the PM to implement the provisions mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act. The Telangana Government also plans to ask for a raise in the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) limit from 3% to 3.5%. Currently, Telangana government can take loans upto Rs. 14,000 crore. With a possible raise, the government can take more loans to cater to a wide range of its welfare schemes.
