Film producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri is keen to bring as many real-life stories as possible to the silver screen. The producer, who is currently bankrolling Bollywood project 1983-World Cup Victory, based on Kapil Dev’s journey, is also simultaneously producing Jayalalithaa’s biopic ‘Thalaivi’ with Kangana Ranaut in the lead.
Prior to these projects, Vishnu Induri had put his money on NTR biopic. Both the installments of NTR biopic (Kathanaykudu, Mahanaykudu) have disappointed big-time at the box-office. The project which was made on a massive budget ended up as a huge disaster at the box-office. Reacting to NTR biopic’s result at a press meet on Thursday, Vishnu admitted that the disaster was a costly lesson.
He said: “I feel proud for producing NTR’s biopic but it failed to meet the expectations due to multiple reasons. We could not cater to what audiences were expecting, and also there are other major elements we missed in it. Had it been made as one single film, the result would have been different. Whatever, it was a very costly lesson to us.” Now, it remains to be seen if the producer will bring all the controversies that Late Jayalalithaa was surrounded with on to the silver screen.
