Hyunwoo Thomas Kim is the name that stunned many as they looked at the poster of Samantha’s upcoming film Oh Baby. While Suresh Babu, TG Vishwaprasad and Sunitha Tati are the producers of this film, who is Hyunwoo then?
Gone are the days where Tollywood could simply lift films from other languages anywhere in the world and make a freemake out of it. In recent times we have seen how Agnyaathavasi suffered legal issues due to plagiarism. At the same time, none other than Nandini Reddy brought huge loss to Bellamkonda after she lifted Hindi film Band Baaja Baarat for Siddharth-Samantha’s Jabardasth. Owing to that, Suresh Babu has decided to buy remake rights of Korean movie ‘Miss Granny’ which happens to be the basis of ‘Oh Baby’.
There entered the Korean production house Kross Pictures into the scene, which happens to have already remade some Korean films into Indian languages including that of Amitab Bachhan’s Te3n movie. Rather simply giving away remake rights, this production company owned by Hyunwoo is associating with the film, taking the credit and getting a share.
Rather lifting films, this is actually a good thing, and we should welcome these foreign production houses into India and Tollywood now.
