The YSRCP chief’s meeting with TRS working president KTR earlier this week has put the leaders, cadre and coordinators of YSR Congress party in a fix. With a divided opinion, the workers of YSR Congress Party are now worrying if it could dent their image and winning chances in the coming assembly polls.
Several leaders of YSRCP have alleged that Chandrababu Naidu’s campaign in Telangana has benefitted TRS party to the recently concluded polls. Now, they are facing a similar situation. Joining hands with KCR, who insulted the people and culture of Andhra many times, will complicate the equation for opposition party in AP now. Certainly, the voters in Andhra aren’t ready to accept TRS, the party which is responsible for the state division.
In the meanwhile, the old videos of KCR (during Telangana movement in 2014) and other TRS leaders like Harish Rao, Kavitha, KTR making harsh comments on culture of Andhra people, Telugu Talli and Andhra educational institutions are going viral on social media. Also, Harish Rao’s recent media byte wherein he spoke against Special Category Status is making rounds on social media platforms. Besides the opponents of YSRCP, these videos are being circulated by employee union leaders and activists who fought against bifurcation. Definitely, it is not something that YSRCP need now.
On one hand, the district-level leaders of YSR Congress party are boosted after their leader finished the state wide padayatra successfully. But, Jagan partnering with TRS to join the Federal Front is an increasing apprehension to them. Delighting his critics and infuriating his supporters, Jagan Mohan Reddy has played a bad goal.
