Omicron case hike:This is the signal of 3rd wave!

Since the emergence of the Covid pandemic, India has seen a flood of infections and a massive number of casualties triggered by contagious disease in both waves. But the second wave had a devastating impact on the country compared to the first wave.

After the second wave was over, the cases and casualties reported a big dip giving a ray of hope. Sadly the happiness did not last too long with the country’s worst fear coming in the form of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus.

Hinting that the third wave of Covid is very near, the Covid infections in the country at once and the major share of the infections were caused by the Omicron variant. A top expert made these claims and warned that the third wave might come any time soon.

Doctor Arora, the Chairman of the National Technical Advisory Group, who is leading the country’s vaccine task force addressed the media on the Covid situation in the country and expressed his concerns. Given the stats, the expert said the Omicron variant causing infections had spread to the major cities as well.

Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata have already reported the Omicron virus of infections and the three cities are accountable for 75 percent of infections. Dr. Arora drew a comparison between the current situation and the situations prevailing in December.

The Omicron variant of Coronavirus, which was found in South Africa made its way to India in December. Last week, the Omicron infections rose by 12 percent, and currently, the infections increased by 28 percent. With this, we can say that infections are going up across the country at a rapid pace. Even the major cities reporting the Omicron infections is a major concern, he said.

To show how the Omicron infections are going up in the country, the infections triggered by the newly detected virus have risen to 1700, and Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata jointly hold 75 percent of the cases. However, Maharashtra has already reported the highest number of Omicron infections so far in the country with 510 infections.

Adding further, Dr. Arora also urged the beneficiaries to take the vaccine doses and said, the vaccine doses permitted for the teenagers are safe and don’t believe such reports.
