Dhurandhar 2 vs Toxic: Epic Box Office Clash on March 19

February 19, 2026

This year’s biggest box office clash is just around the corner. Bollywood’s highly anticipated sequel Dhurandhar 2 is set to go head-to-head with South India’s eagerly awaited pan-India action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale of Grown-Ups on March 19.

Toxic, starring Yash, has been in the making for over two years, with the release date announced well in advance to avoid pan-India competition. Meanwhile, the massive success of the first Dhurandhar prompted Ranveer Singh’s producers to lock the same date for the sequel, despite knowing Toxic would also hit theaters on that day.

Surprisingly, neither film has launched major promotional campaigns yet, even as the release date nears. Both are still in the final stages of shooting and post-production. Aside from teasers, which drew only moderate audience response, no other promotional material has been released. This is a worrying trend, as both films carry huge box office expectations and must perform strongly in multiple languages to recover their substantial investments.

Adding to the challenge, both films have already courted controversy. Toxic faced backlash over explicit visuals and perceived religious insinuations in its teaser, while Dhurandhar 2 ran into trouble for safety violations during certain set sequences in Mumbai.

The coming days are crucial. The makers of both films need to resolve these issues and ramp up aggressive promotional campaigns to ensure massive openings across all territories. With significant stakes riding on their performance, every move in the lead-up to March 19 will be closely watched by fans and industry insiders alike.
