Three members of a political family are now in three different parties. Yes. One is in the ruling TRS. The other one is a BJP MP and the third is now planning to join the Congress family. The family in question is the Dharmapuri family of Nizamabad.
Rajya Sabha MP and former minister D Srinivas is still in the TRS. Though estranged from the TRS bosses, he still continues to be a TRS Rajya Sabha member. He votes as per the whip issued. His son D Aravind is a firebrand MP from Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat. His elder son Dharmapuri Sanjay, who was the former mayor of Nizamabad and has been with his father in the TRS, is now planning to join the Congress Party. He has already met PCC chief Revanth Reddy on Tuesday.
Dharmapuri Srinivas is a senior politician. He had worked as the PCC chief in the undivided AP in 1998 and 2004. He played a key role in enabling the Congress to come to power. He was also a minister in the YSR cabinet. In the wake of the AP bifurcation, he had resigned from the party in 2015 and joined the TRS. His son Sanjay too has joined the TRS.
However, his younger son D Aravind stood with the BJP. He joined the party and defeated KCR’s daughter Kalwauntla Kavitha in 2019 elections with a resounding margin. His oratorical skills and aggressive politics have made him hugely popular in Telangana. Thus the three membersof the family are in three different parties. Let’s see how their family and political relations go.
