OpenAI Launches ChatGPT for Intune for Enterprise Users

OpenAI has launched a new iOS application called ChatGPT for Intune, aimed specifically at enterprise users and educational institutions that operate under Microsoft Intune-managed environments. The move expands ChatGPT’s availability in workplaces and classrooms where organisations allow only approved applications under strict IT and security policies.

The app is designed for managed devices, enabling users to access ChatGPT securely on iPhone and iPad within controlled environments. It also supports seamless syncing of chat history across devices, allowing users to continue their conversations smoothly when switching between an iPhone and an iPad.

Microsoft Intune is widely used by organisations as a device and application management platform to regulate app access and ensure compliance with internal security requirements. With this Intune-compatible version, OpenAI is targeting institutions that need tightly controlled software ecosystems while still wanting access to advanced AI capabilities.

The app includes the same core features available in the standard ChatGPT experience, including image generation from text prompts, advanced voice mode for real-time conversations, file and photo uploads for summarisation and analysis, content drafting tools for emails and reports, summarisation features for research and notes, and interactive learning tools such as quizzes and step-by-step explanations.

These capabilities make the app useful for both professional and academic use cases. Employees can use it for productivity tasks like drafting documents and summarising information, while students and educators can use it as a learning assistant for explanations and study support.

The app is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad under the name ChatGPT for Intune and is free to download, with enterprise-focused features built for managed environments. With this launch, OpenAI is further strengthening its presence in regulated enterprise ecosystems while ensuring secure access to AI tools in organisations that rely on Intune-approved applications.
