Director Rajamouli took his cinematic world to the next level with the multi-starrer film RRR. The Pan-India film emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of all time in the country. As another feather in its cap, a few Hollywood outlets are saying that RRR might get nominated for the prestigious Oscars.
Amid much discussion on the Oscar campaign for the high-ticket film, none other than director SS Rajamouli reacted to the campaign. It is known that Jakkanna Rajamouli graced the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and RRR was screened there.
Talking about the Oscars, the RRR director said that it would be a boost for the team of the film and the nation if the film gets the Oscars. His comments made the crowd go crazy and they cheered a lot.
Having said that, Rajamouli said, the Oscars cannot impact his way of telling stories. Talking about how his films are made keeping Indian audiences in mind, the filmmaker said if he thinks about such things then he might not be able to make films.
It looks like Rajamouli is not giving much thought to the Oscars and he wants to focus on his next film. There is no wrong in what the ace director said about the Oscars for film and the bigger audiences he has.
The reason behind many Pan-India films failing is not having the required sensibilities. Forgetting the local sensibilities, they focus only on the northern audiences, and it bombs. Coming to Rajamouli’s films, he always focuses on Telugu sensibilities and they work for other audiences as well.
