Rishab Shetty Gains Pan-India Fame, Prepares for Big Projects

Until a few years ago, Rishab Shetty was largely recognized only within Karnataka. While he had made his mark as both a director and actor with several notable films, his work remained mostly limited to Kannada audiences.
Everything changed in 2022 with Kantara, a film he both directed and starred in. After creating a massive sensation in Karnataka for two weeks, the film was dubbed into Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil, receiving an overwhelming response across all languages. This marked Rishab Shetty’s emergence as a pan-India actor.
The success continued with Kantara Chapter 1, released during Dasara last year. The film reportedly collected a massive ₹800 crore at the global box office, further establishing Rishab’s name nationwide and significantly expanding his market. He also gained notable popularity in the North belt, a rare achievement for a South Indian actor.
Rishab Shetty is now gearing up for his upcoming projects. He is set to star in Jai Hanuman in Telugu and is committed to a big-budget film under the Sithara Entertainments banner. Additionally, he is expected to play the lead in a Hindi film based on Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Reports suggest that Rishab is demanding around ₹80 crore per film. Following the phenomenal success of Kantara Chapter 1, he is reportedly firm on his remuneration, reflecting his expanded market value.
Once these projects go on floors, they are expected to generate significant buzz. After completing these commitments, there is also speculation that Rishab may return to the Kantara franchise with a new installment, much to the excitement of his fans.
